Buddhi Achhami, PhD
Dr. Buddhi Achhami grew up in Gorkha, Nepal. He currently serves as Environmental Scientist at Pierce's Disease Control Program at California Department of Food and Agriculture, California, USA. His academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science in Nepal, a master’s degree from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and a PhD in ecology and environmental science from Montana State University, Montana. As an entomologist, Dr. Achhami is interested in integrated pest management. His research mostly focuses on insect-plant interactions, pest behavior, life tables, and insecticide efficacy. He has published 13 peer-reviewed journal articles and delivered a similar number of presentations on these topics. Also, he started his professional career as an entomologist at the Nepal Agricultural Research Council. Additionally, he has been an active member of NAPA since 2016, contributing to the organization as part of the membership drive committee.

Krishna Sapkota
Krishna holds a master’s degree in agriculture specialized in post-harvest horticulture from Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), bachelor’s in agriculture from IAAS/TU. He is South Asia Regional Hub Manager for Feed the Future Innovation lab for Horticulture. This project is a USAID initiative led by University of California Davis together with many other universities and organizations around the globe. He has been in the development sector since 2007 starting his career from SDC funded Multi-stakeholder Forestry Program (MSFP) following USAID, UNDP, IFAD funded projects. His research interests lie in the area of food and nutrition security, resilient livelihoods, climate smart agriculture and agribusiness. He has been working to enhance the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through agribusinesses that are climate change resilient. He manages a portfolio of three research for development projects in Bangladesh and Nepal working for increasing the production efficiency of fruits and vegetables engaging youths in South Asia. Krishna has mentored many private sectors to start up their agribusiness and grow their business while catering services for the producers. He is a lifelong member of Nepal Horticulture Society (NHS) and active life member of Nepalese Agricultural Professionals of Americas (NAPA).
Shreesha Pandeya
Shreesha Pandeya joined the College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources in August 2023 as a graduate student at Kentucky State University (KYSU). At KYSU, she is working as a graduate research assistant in the Department of Environmental Studies. She conducts her thesis research titled “Assessing the impacts of land use land cover changes on ecosystem services in Eastern Kentucky.” Prior to joining KYSU, Shreesha completed her undergraduate degree from Agriculture and Forestry University, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal. Her interest lies in climate change studies, environmental changes, ecosystem services, land use land cover change modeling, water quality assessment, integrating geospatial applications and human dimensions. She has received an outstanding master’s student award from Kentucky State University and Association of Nepalese Agricultural Professionals of Americas (NAPA) in the year 2024 based on her academic excellence. In addition to this, she has received competitive awards in various conferences and symposiums. She has a positive outlook towards life, and she is passionate about continuous improvement and achievements embracing personal and professional growth.

Bipin Neupane
Bipin Neupane is a Ph.D. student at Washington State University, specializing in Small Grain Breeding, Genomics, and Bioinformatics. With a strong background in agricultural sciences and experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at North Dakota State University and Tribhuvan University, he brings a unique perspective and a relentless drive for learning to his research. Bipin has contributed to cutting-edge projects in plant breeding, genome sequencing, and crop stress tolerance evaluation. His technical expertise spans DNA extraction, PCR, genotyping, sequencing, disease screening, and data analysis. He actively serves on professional committees, including NAPA, where he demonstrates his creativity and leadership, while also dedicating himself to mentoring students and engaging in community service.
